Sijtse Keur & Norbert de Jong & Alexxx & Hans Klastat & Minke de Fonkert & Antoine Monod de Froideville & Bonne Suits
Antoine Monod de Froideville (1976) makes abstract works and is fascinated by everything that contradicts each other, like the colors black and white. If there wasn’t any black, white would be such a big of a deal either. He has been a muslim for over ten years and gets his inspiration from religion. God created everything in order for us humans to learn something from it: Love and hate, black and white. He creates patterns that repeat themselves and draws inspiration from religion and nature.
When Bonne from Bonne Suits saw the work of Antoine he was immediately triggered. Now they are working together on a long sleeve.
In the year 2014 Bonne Reijn (1990) created the first line for Bonne Suits: black and white two piece suits. He wanted to create something that can be worn at every occasion by every person, either poor or rich. A clothing item that can be a staple item in anyone’s life and in every wardrobe, suitable for informal and formal occasions and something that is made to last and from high quality. Bonne Reijn succeeded. Nowadays his suits are available in multiple colors and editions. His suits are widely famous in Amsterdam and are worn all over the world by young, old, men, women, everything in between, by rappers, by the LGBTQ-community, punkers, intellectuals, by housemoms, curators, hairdressers, bakers and artists.
Apart from the collaboration between Antoine and Bonne, Bonne has also provided a number of white suits for artists to customize. Sijtse Keur is a true Amsterdammer and fanatical artist, he paints from his heart. The work of Norbert de Jong is intuitive, imploring and Romantic. The canal houses of Amsterdam often form the decor of his work. That these two artists are now using a Bonne Suit as their canvasses is a very logical but also exciting match.
Alexxx was born in the Sovjet-Union and came to Amsterdam in 1994. He has a history of addiction and has lived on the streets for a big part of his life. When he spiraled into depression in 1999, someone recommended him to start drawing. He got a ballpen and a piece of paper. With this new weapon he started to develop his own way of drawing. Alexxx is now a ballpen artist! With ballpens he will customize a white Bonne Suit.
Hans Klastat was a model in the ‘80s and is a very versatile artist. In his young years he used to hang out with famous artists like Karel Appel. He painted with them and was a youngster with loads of talent. He will be customizing a Bonne Suit as well and with Hans it can go in any direction!
Minke de Fonkert is the first artist that started working in the Gallery-Atelier de Herenplaats. She has been working there for nearly 30 years now! She paints and draws and uses multiple techniques and materials. She finds the reasons for her work in her own experiences and the insanely great monsters and animals from her dreams and fantasies. Also with Minke you never know in what direction she will take us.
All these artists are working on one unique suit. Expect amazing and one of a kind artist suits!
